Neither Sabina nor Delora realized the gift they would receive from each other when they first met. But two months into their shared housing arrangement through the Homecoming Project, they’ve both felt positive differences in each other’s lives.
On Thursday, February 28, 2019, local CBS affiliate station, KPIX, aired a story about the Homecoming Project and how it’s helping folks being released from long prison sentences regain their footing.
In the story, Delora shares how Sabina took her out to drive for the first time after being released from prison. What isn’t shared though, is how Delora has mentored Sabina’s daughter. The reciprocal exchange and shared bonds are just a couple of unexpected benefits both hosts and participants of the Homecoming Project have experienced.
