Sheely Edwards is the Communications Coordinator at Impact Justice where she develops communications systems and supports the team’s digital, press and outreach efforts. Before joining Impact Justice, Sheely was Opinion Editor and Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Utah Chronicle at the University of Utah. There, she led dozens of college journalists in covering local politics, campus news, and the state legislature. In 2022, she was named “Journalism Grad of the Year” by the Utah Society of Professional Journalists and “Student Leader of the Year” by the University of Utah Student Media Department. Sheely also worked at the Hinckley Institute of Politics, Utah State Legislature, and Campaign Legal Center, among other research projects and local campaigns.

Sheely comes to her work with a passion for using communications to expand our political imagination and inspire progressive change. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Utah in 2022 with dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and sociology. Born and raised in Maryland, Sheely moved back to the East Coast after graduation, joining Impact Justice’s Washington, D.C. office shortly thereafter.
