Nicole Pittman joins R-Street’s Eli Lehrer and Stop Child Predators’ Stacie Rumenap in an op-ed for The Hill called, “Marking Kids for Life on Sex Offender Registries,” to announce their bi-partisan coalition opposing youth registration – Just Kids.

For decades, the US has placed children as young as eight years old on sex-offender registries. Thousands of Americans are registered for things they did as kids, their lives tainted by indiscretions as common as streaking or sexting.

Joining together as a social justice lawyer, the founder of a conservative think tank, and the president of a survivor organization, Nicole, Eli, and Stacie find common ground on the issue of youth registration. The Just Kids coalition works to challenge youth registration and implement practices that protect all children by highlighting its harms, costs, and ineffectiveness.
