On Tuesday, July 28, Impact Justice had the opportunity to host AmeriCorps CEO Michael Smith for a roundtable with California Justice Leaders staff and members. An innovative AmeriCorps program, California Justice Leaders places formerly incarcerated and system-impacted individuals in community-based organizations across California, where they leverage their valuable life experience to serve as credible messengers providing reentry coaching to justice-involved youth and young adults.
Michael Smith joined Impact Justice’s Vice President of Innovations Aishatu Yusuf, Regional Manager Mel Flanagan, and California Justice Leaders Members Devontae and MJ for a wide-ranging discussion on topics from their personal experiences with reintegration after incarceration to Impact Justice’s broader justice reform mission and work.
