Morella Prisco is a Senior Research Analyst for the Research and Action Center at Impact Justice. She has experience conducting qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis on programs like SNAP, WIC, and projects within FNS and the USDA. Her research has centered around health interventions in marginalized communities, dietary analysis of carceral facility menus, and Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder. Before working at Impact Justice, Morella worked as a Research Assistant at Westat on Behavioral Health and Social Policy projects. She also worked as a Research Assistant at American University, where she conducted research under Dr. TaLisa Carter to examine how Medication-Assisted Treatment employees respond to stress in justice settings.

Morella attended American University, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Health Promotion. Her coursework and research largely focused on health of underserved communities, nutrition, systems of justice, and health program planning. She plans on perusing her PhD in Nutritional Sciences in the future and hopes to continue studying interventions to improve health outcomes and chronic disease markers in diverse populations.
