Lisa Moreno is the Southern California regional program manager for the California Justice Leaders – AmeriCorps project, which provides employment and leadership opportunities to young people with prior involvement in the justice system while increasing awareness of and access to California’s Honorable Discharge petition process.

Lisa works to increase opportunities for at-risk youth, and is committed to serving youth and young adults who have been impacted by the justice system. She most recently worked in South Central LA for the Gang Reduction and Youth Development program established by the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, which is dedicated to addressing gang violence with the goal of improving the overall health, safety, and well-being of youth, their families, and communities. There she served as a supervisor of both the prevention and re-entry programs. 

Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from UCLA where she graduated magna cum laude. She also earned her master’s degree in social welfare from UCLA where she researched outcomes for individuals returning to communities after serving long-terms of incarceration.
