Khaliya Newton joined Impact Justice as the Office Operations Coordinator for the DC office in March 2023. In this role, Khaliya provides administrative support to multiple program directors as well as acting as the main point of contact for all office logistics within the DC office. Before joining Impact Justice, Khaliya held a variety of administrative and clerical positions before pursuing a career that aligned more closely with her values and passions. As someone who has seen firsthand how difficult it can be for incarcerated individuals to reintegrate into their communities, Khaliya found it to be crucial to find an organization with the same goals and zest for a more just society.
A native of South Carolina, Khaliya obtained an associates of arts degree from Trident Technical College in December 2021. She is currently in her final year as an human resource management student at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
