Kate joined Impact Justice’s finance team in 2016, bringing with her a strong background in nonprofit finance and accounting. With an emphasis on mission-aligned infrastructure development, Kate works closely with all areas of Impact Justice to build robust financial practices in step with the organization’s vision. Her responsibilities include collaborative budgeting, maintenance of internal controls, and strategic development and planning.
Previously, Kate worked for EdTec, a social enterprise providing financial services to charter schools throughout California and beyond. As a financial consultant, she served a multitude of schools in the greater Bay Area and in Oakland, her home town, while navigating the ever-changing California school funding landscape. She provided accounting review, multi-year budgeting, and cash management expertise to school boards and leaders.
Kate grew her nonprofit passion working and living in Managua, Nicaragua with a holistic community development organization. She lived in Cedro Galán for over a year, working alongside the community members to establish a health initiative and clinic. She also taught English, as well as reproductive health and math within the Nicaraguan public school system.
Kate holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Pennsylvania.
