Christine Bonilha joined Impact Justice in 2022 as an Administrative Associate and Executive Assistant and is now Oakland Operations Coordinator. Within this role, she provides organization-wide operations support, coordinates logistics for the daily operations of the Oakland office building, and provides specialized project support.
Christine received her BA in Psychology from Cornell University in 2012. As an undergraduate, Christine served for 1 year as a Teaching Assistant with the Cornell Prison Education Program, where she helped instruct 2 college-level courses at the maximum-security Auburn State Correctional Facility. She also volunteered 3 years with the Prisoner Express program of the Durland Alternatives Library in Ithaca, NY, which provides educational and creative resources to incarcerated people across the nation. Christine was additionally one of the founding members of the student-led organization, PREP, the Prison Reform & Education Project.
Christine has a variety of professional experience in the public and private sector. Among many other roles, she has worked as an Archivist for the Cornell Rare & Manuscript Collections, as an IT Assistant for the Los Angeles Unified School District, as an Operations Manager for a small San Mateo fintech startup, and most recently as a Buyer II within the County of San Mateo Procurement Division. During that time, Christine processed over 800 purchase requisitions, totaling approximately $65,000,000, primarily for the County’s Information Services Department and Emergency Operation Center. During the COVID-19 pandemic and CZU August Lightning Complex Fires, Christine and her teammates worked onsite to purchase vital supplies and services to support the County’s emergency response.
