Benjamin Hernadez joins Impact Justice as our Senior Program Associate of Housing and Outreach in the Bay Area. Prior to this role, Benjamin was a client advocate at the Yolo County Public Defender’s Office. In his previous role he played a pivotal role in the Prosecutor-Initiated Resentencing pilot program in Yolo County, which included extending support to incarcerated individuals and collaborating with state and local agencies to facilitate the reintegration of returning citizens. Additionally, Benjamin co-founded and served as an instructor for Project Free Write, an initiative aimed at amplifying the voices of justice-impacted individuals allowing them to share their experience and creativity through art and writing.
Benjamin graduated from UC Berkeley, where his educational journey in legal studies and public policy shaped his unwavering commitment to advancing equity, minimizing the collateral harm faced by underserved communities within systemic structures, and expanding pathways to success through community empowerment.
