“The Oakland-based Homecoming Project was launched in 2018 by the national nonprofit Impact Justice, whose mission is investing in community-based models of justice reform. The Homecoming Project has placed 157 former inmates in Bay Area homes. After their six-month stays, none of the 130 who have so far graduated has returned to prison.”
