Allison Basinger has a passion and drive to create a world free of violence. In October 2024, Allison began serving the National PREA Resource Center as a Senior Program Manager in the Training and Support Division with oversight of our PREA online training academy. Prior to the PRC, Allison was the Statewide PREA Coordinator for the Kansas Department of Corrections where she ensured facility compliance with the Federal PREA Standards and provided impactful education sessions, in person and online, for employees and area community members.
Throughout her career, Allison has created and implemented multiple award-winning and nationally recognized education and training programs. Connecting the Dots. . ., a college based sexual assault prevention education presentation, was selected by Southern Methodist University for their freshman orientation two years in a row. The Outrage and No More Bullying!, two separate prevention education programs, have been replicated across the United States in 28 and 15 states respectively. Additionally, Allison has facilitated a multitude of leadership training sessions and presented at many conferences and workshops, as either the keynote speaker or in breakout sessions. Allison presented at the first ever National Summit on Gender-Based Violence Among Young People in Washington D.C., having received an invitation from the Departments of Education and Justice through the Office of, then Vice President, Joe Biden.
Allison facilitates weekly Batterer Intervention Program groups for men convicted of domestic and sexual violence. As a Master Trainer and Facilitator, she implements trauma informed programming to reduce the recidivism of the perpetration of domestic and sexual violence.
