Kelsey Cummings is the Senior Program Manager for the California Justice Leaders Americorps and LeadOn programs, which supports formerly incarcerated and system impacted young adults through employment opportunities, professional development, and the Credible Messenger model. Kelsey supports the outcomes of the CJL program through oversight of AmeriCorps compliance, the growing CJL Alumni Network and the LeadOn program.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kelsey has over 10 years of experience in k-12 public schools, working to make resources more accessible, equitable and trauma-informed. Kelsey has worked closely with high school and transitional aged youth, families, teachers, administrators and community partners to improve and streamline services and ultimately disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline. In her previous role, Kelsey supported low-income, first-generation high school students in preparing for and navigating the social-emotional challenges of high school and the pursuit of a higher education.
Kelsey graduated from University of Redlands with a B.A. in race and ethnic studies and earned her Masters Degree in social work from Tulane University.
