A native of Oakland’s Acorn Housing Projects, Larry has worked in the field of mental health, behavioral health, as well as community services for ten years. In these ten years Larry has served the adult and at-risk youth population. Larry started in level 14 lockdown residential facilities with at-risk youth, and later transitioned to adults with disabilities and housing issues. Larry has worked various positions in this field such as Group Home Manager, Case Manager, and Mental Health Specialist. 

Larry is a graduate of Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Management/Psychology while minoring in Early Childhood Development. After graduating, Larry went on to travel the world playing professional basketball in Europe, Asia, Central America, and South America as well as a short stint with the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings. When not working in community affairs, Larry enjoys cooking, driving along the coast, spending time with his family, and collecting classic cars.
