Katelyn Gifford joined Impact Justice in 2020 as a PREA administrative associate. Prior to graduating from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in African American studies with a concentration in history & culture, she conducted research into the historical effects of convict leasing within the criminal justice system and the societal impacts of these practices on communities of color. She also interned at various organizations dedicated to civil rights including the ACLU of Virginia and the Department of Justice during this time. She is passionate about eliminating the stigma surrounding incarcerated individuals and reshaping the criminal justice system.
