Guadalupe Nufio joined the Impact Justice team in December 2019 as coordinator for LeadOn, a Los Angeles-based pilot project designed to provide resources and opportunities for young people with direct experience in California’s justice system.
Guadalupe previously worked for Columbia University’s Just Ideas program, which seeks to extend educational opportunities to currently incarcerated individuals. She helped facilitate 3-week courses at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. She also coordinated a Spanish GED program in New York City. Before that, Guadalupe worked with low-income and at-risk youth to support their career development at Jobs Vision Success SoCal.
Guadalupe graduated with a B.A. in political science with a concentration in Latin American studies from Columbia University. Her research and education focused on the role of drugs in transnational ties and violence against women in Latin America. She hopes to continue serving and extending educational opportunities to underrepresented communities all throughout California.
